Brianna CO# 4

Date/Time: June 24, 2026 Topic/Skill: practice writing articles in a sentence. Teacher presentation: The teacher went over the homework, and asked students to show their answers and explain why they chose thoses answers. Classroom management: Each student shared their answers Materials: worksheet Feedback: The students provided feedback about why an article does or does not work in a sentences. Lessons: I learned that allowing students to make mistakes and correct themselves is essential in teaching, because it allows students to understand why they did something wrong. This allows students to not make the same mistakes in the future,  when the teacher provides a detailed explanation.

Date/Time: June 23rd Topic/Skill: Listening (World Cup) Teacher Presentation: The teacher played an audio about the World Cup stats.  Classroom Management: The teacher had students take notes during the audio lecture for students to be able to explain what they heard during the audio and compare with one another.  Materials: White board and Google Doc  Student Participation: Everyone needed to provide explain what they heard from the audio and pick which team was the underdog, as well as if they would rather be apart of a big or small team.  Feedback Provided: The teacher provided feedback on an assignment students had to complete after class discussion, matching the word with the definition.  Lesson(s) on teaching you learned: The lesson can be a topic that is more casual, but leads to conversation, so something that is interesting to the students, such as the World Cup.

 Date/ Time: June 23, 2026 Topic/Skill: Asked students to watch a video about Mission San Luis and answer the comprehension questions. Teacher presentation: The teacher played the video for the students,' and read an article about the history of Mission San Luis Classroom management: The teacher asked the same question for each student after the video was over Student participation: Each student answered the questions Feedback provided: The teacher explained any words the students did not understand from the article Lessons: It is imporant to read articles slowly and explain the terms students might not understand.

Audrey TS #1

 Date/Time: June 22nd, 4:30-5:30pm Location: Student Union   Topic/Skill: Needs Assessment  Feedback provided to the tutee: It is okay to make mistakes, as you will grow from them and your English will improve. Don't be shy when correcting yourself or asking others to slow down when speaking.  Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: ESL student wants to focus on improving listening skills first, as that is their weakest point compared to reading, writing, speaking, and grammar.

 Date/Time: June 22, 2026 Topic/Skill: listening to a lecture and summarizing the information heard Teacher presentation: The teacher asked questions about the lecture before showing the audio to engage students' understanding of the topic. Classroom management: The teacher provided a lecture for the students to watch all together. Materials: video lecture Student Particpation: Everyone discussed their answers about the lecture Feedback provided: The teacher asked students' to explain the lecture in detail and wrote down key words on the boards they kept messing up while listening Lessons: I learned that the topic being taught matters. For instance, the teacher's lecture was about the FIFA World Cup. This topic creates universal interest among the students, creating more engagement through listening and conversation.

Date/Time: June 22, 2026 Topic/Skill: Asking students to recite what their classmates said in the questionnaires they filled out last class. Teacher presentation: The teacher asked questions from the worksheet to see if the students remembered what their partner discussed. Classroom management: The teacher gave the students five minutes to study their answers before reciting them. Student participation: All students responded to the teacher's questions about the other students. Feedback provided: The teacher corrected the students' pronunciation when speaking and made them repeat the sentence to improve their speaking skills. Lesson: I learned that patience and constant repetition reveals the necessary tools to acquire when asking students to speak in English.

Date/Time: June 22nd Topic/Skill: Grammar (Present verbs)  Teacher Presentation: The teacher explained the frequency of verbs used in the English language as well as listing when to use them.  Classroom Management: The teacher stayed on top of students to stay engaged, especially if they went on their phones.  Materials: PowerPoint Student Participation: Everyone needed to provide an example to get the teacher out of jury duty.  Feedback Provided: The teacher provided feedback on the right tense to use in a sentence depending on what the student was trying to say.  Lesson(s) on teaching you learned: Go with the flow and be casual with the students to keep them interested in the lesson, as well as having fun with them.
