Topic/Skill: Reading (Drums in Nigeria)

Teacher Presentation: The teacher had the students read an excerpt about different types of drums in Nigeria. 

Classroom Management: The teacher would walk around the classroom to look at student's laptops to ensure that they were looking things up as instructed on Google. 

Materials: White board and Canvas 

Student Participation: All students had to read a paragraph from the excerpt to practice speaking skills and pronunciation, as well as point out any vocabulary that they did not know.  

Feedback Provided: The teacher provided feedback on pronunciation on words that students said incorrectly and encouraged them to connect the word with a real life situation so they would remember the word.  

Lesson(s) on teaching you learned: Asking students to connect vocab words to a real-life situation or story to increase engagement, and so they can fully learn the word and increase their vocabulary.
